El Rohi leaders share the gospel as they clothe, feed, educate, and love the children. Yadamma is one of those leaders. She's the loving mother that she never had. Her story impacted me and I remembered what Elbert Hubbard wrote: "God will not look you over for medals, degrees, or diplomas, but for scars."... On our walk we pass Indian tourists with aviator sunglasses, converse shoes, and skinny jeans. I quickly pass by hoping no one stops us with cell phone cameras primed & ready to shoot the two blond haired "angels" at my side and the one on my back. He explained that Indian Christian workers have no safety nets. If there are physical injuries, critical illness, burnout, or an unexpected funeral, they're on their own. I jump in on assisting with administrative stuff like the database and researching upcoming forums & conferences we can be part of... We were excited about sharing at the University Christian Fellowship at the University of Edinburgh. These students are the future of our ministry in a region of the world just now becoming aware of EMI... Much has been washed away by flooding during severe monsoons. Relocation off the unstable sandbar is not an option. The residents are Dalits and because they own the island – even with recurring floods – they have no wish to move. They have no other place to go. We've been learning lessons in faith. The uncertainty has been stressful, sometimes we've lost sleep. But we are involved in the Moravian church as ministers. People think that this is an additional stress. But it brings us back to the congregation, back to His Word. It makes us acknowledge that God is greater...
