Internships are for recent graduates in architecture, structural / civil / environmental engineering, and journalism. During your internship you will gain practical professional experience by assisting staff & volunteers on development projects both in field & office settings. We aim at 50/50 internships, giving South Asian interns a great opportunity to learn from international design professionals, & giving international interns opportunities to explore the culture & customs of India. The relationships you build will last a lifetime. Each year, eMi² hosts one 6-month and one 4-month internship program. We also offer mini-internships called Project+.
“The most rewarding part was after all the hot days and hard work, when we finally met with the hospital staff and discussed a lot of the issues on the campus... It was great to see their eyes open up and really let loose a lot of great ideas regarding their ministry and the growth of the hospital.” – Aaron Reinke, USA, Project+ Civil Engineering Intern, June 2009
“God has increased my passions and clarified my vision. God has helped me want to know him more. God is teaching me discipline, patience, and to trust him. It has been good to see the way the church and ministries are working here, also to see more of how eMi² is a partner and encouragement to the ministries.” – David Burgess, UK, 4-month + 6-month Civil Engineering Intern, 2007–2008
“Architecturally I was surprised at the variety of projects I was included in as well as the different skills I was able to use. I really enjoyed being able to help design projects, to learn new rendering skills, and to work alongside staff.” – Melissa Bleck, USA, 6-month Architecture Intern, 2006
“Highlights – Times when I felt that I connected directly with locals. Top on that list must be the times I explored the Mussoorie bazaar with Inam’s son Shadab. That 10-year-old showed me what it meant to take a child-like joy in the simple things around... and his trust and immediate friendship to me – a stranger – was so refreshing. I felt like somehow God was working through that...
Lowlights – Being sick in bed. Horrible.” – Yu-Hsien Chia, Singapore, Project+ Architecture Intern, 2004
